North Valley Food Bank

Use of Funds: Increase our purchase of local and healthy foods, our activities in the community to promote healthy eating habits, and outreach to those most in need of our services as a food bank.
Mission Statement: To purchase, collect, and glean food in order to provide assistance to those who are lacking food and resources to maintain their household.
Project Detail: In addition to the donated foods we receive from individuals and the local stores, the North Valley Food Bank also purchases over $40,000 in food from a variety of sources.  Great Fish funds will be used for the purchase of foods with an emphasis on the purchase of local and healthy options.  In 2016 we propose to “upgrade” the foods delivered to the 38 senior and disabled households to always include dairy, vegetables and healthy diet options.  Increasing access to a healthy diet remains our emphasis in 2016.

September 10 is the Community Celebration and Fun Run

We need walkers, runners to sign up on line to run / walk for the food bank.  We earn points for each participant.  Points earn grants.
