WHAT WE DO

North Valley Food Bank – Volunteer Teams

NVFB NEVER REFUSES TO HELP THOSE WHO COME BY IN THEIR TIME OF NEED.

  • For 30 years, NVFB has been an important link in the chain of COMMUNITY support.
  • In 2011, NVFB:
        • Distributed almost 350,000 lbs. of food to the community.
        • Provided food to more than 7,500 households.
        • Served almost 5,000 children, more than 7,500 adults, and over 4,000 seniors.
  • NVFB has always been an ALL VOLUNTEER organization and pays not wages.
  • NVFB provides food that would otherwise go to waste to families in an atmosphere of friendly RESPECT.
  • NVFB’s “meat crew” works with MT Fish Wildlife and Parks to acquire and process wild game.
  • NVFB works to provide nutritious full meal boxes which it distributes WEEKLY.
  • NVFB is a partner agency with the Montana Food Bank Network.  Some of the food NVFB acquires is free, while some is purchased, with a preference given to LOCAL suppliers.
  • NVFB puts extra emphasis on supporting local children by providing backpacks with school supplies, working with special needs students, and enabling Youth Court referrals a place to learn about GIVING BACK to their community.
  • NVFB frequently provides food stuffs to other local organizations such as Shepherd Hand’s Community Meal and the Columbia Falls Community Dinner to assist them with their MISSIONS.
